The Level Test Continues
Ahn Jae-hyun is the third caster member to walk down the stairs for his English level test. He looks nervous. English teacher Lynda Behk congratulates him on his marriage and asks him how he’s doing with the newlywed life. He responds, “Room cleaning, everyday date, and piano playing.” Lynda says, “That’s so sweet. You’re romantic.” Ahn Jae-hyun, “Arigato.”
Lynda asks if he cooks for his wife. He makes spaghetti. She then asks, “What’s the most special thing so far?” Ahn Jae-hyun, “Every time. Very special. My universe, Goo-nim.” Jae-hyun says he doesn’t exchange a lot of gifts. Sometimes he writes letters though, especially when she’s mad at him. One week ago, he wrote her a letter of apology.
Even though his English is limited, he takes the test seriously and tries his best. After the test is over, Ahn Jae-hyun says she’s a good teacher because she kept encouraging him to speak and didn’t call him out for being bad at it. He gets a B. He wishes it were B+ though.
He has a Thai friend that he used to practice English with which explains why he did so well. Lynda says she gave him a high grade because he didn’t try to fall back on his Korean.
Eun Ji-won is up next. He says his English name is Matt. He’s feeling confident since he lived in Hawaii for four years. English teacher Lynda asks about Hawaii. Eun Ji-won says, “Kind of surf, actually I do boogie board.” Lynda asks him for his most memorable fan story. Eun Jiwon replies, “Back in the day, our fan they don’t SNS. If they want to see us, they must come. Only that’s the way. They had uh so long line waiting to see the show.” Lynda notes, “You were a great dancer.” Eun Jiwon replies, “I did.”
After just a few questions back and forth, Lynda says, “That’s all for today. If you have any questions you can ask.” Eun Jiwon is shocked at how short it was. He asks if there’s another test. He thinks the others took much longer. This must mean that he got an A. He does get an A. Lynda says he was more natural than the other cast members, although he didn’t really answer her questions directly.
Eun Jiwon suddenly yells out “OH REALLY!” Upstairs, Song Min-ho is worried.
Kang Ho-dong looks at Eun Jiwon’s “A” shirt and is sad. Kang Ho-dong did better than he himself expected, but still only got a C.
It’s Kyuhyun’s turn. Lynda asks him to talk about his weekend. Kyuhyun says, “This weekend, very very busy because my new album and solo concert. ” Lynda asks about his solo concert. Kyuhyun, “My concert, ballad, musical, dance, rap, everything.” They talk about Kyuhyun’s trip to New York. Kyuhyun, “Shake Shack?” Lynda asks about In and Out because she’s from the east coast. She asks which she likes better. Kyuhyyn replies Lotteria. LOL. She asks again, but he hasn’t actually tried In and Out. Kyuhyun, “Sorry Sorry.” LOL.
Kyuhyun doesn’t want a C. He gets a B and feels relieved. Lynda says she gave Kyuhyun a B because he can understand quickly, and she also says that their humor connected.
Meanwhile upstairs, Song Min-ho tells the other cast members that he did a lot of Chinese concerts, but can’t speak the language. Kang Ho-dong asks where he was in China. Song Min-ho replies, “Shin . . . Sheun . . . Shin . . . ?” Lee Soo-geun’s glad Song Min-ho’s part of the show. Kang Ho-dong expects he’ll get a C too.
It’s Song Min-ho’s turn next and Na PD predicts that they’ll be seeing a new color (basically a D or F).
